Dear Friends,I wanted to let you in on a project we are doing at MWI and wanted to invite you to participate. This year we’ve had so much success and enjoyment of the Losar ‘24 fundraiser t-shirt. For next year, we thought it would be even more interesting to invite people to send in a design for the ‘25 Losar t-shirt, the year of the snake. What would the year of the female wood snake look like to you? We welcome all designs- we want to see you in your creativity. Next year, “Creativity” will be my main theme, and I want to ignite everyone's creativity in this project. We want you to participate with us in everything we do - it’s always a collaboration at MWI! Love to you all and please take us up on this invitation. Maybe I’ll try to make one, too. I actually love snakes. See below for submission details. Call for Creativity: Enter Your T-shirt and Artwork Design

We invite you to send in your creative images and art to celebrate the 2025 New Year (Losar), the year of the "Female-Wood-Snake." Your designs may be used by The Middle Way Initiative and Elizabeth Mattis Namgyel in various ways including the MWI website and in communications to celebrate the new year. Please share your creativity! You don't have to be a formal artist or designer. We welcome your doodles, kids' drawings, photographs, and hand-drawn images or digital images. We ask that designs reflect the elements for 2025 Losar, the female wood snake. It is optional as to whether you include the text "Tashi Delek 2025" in your design. One design will be selected to use on the MWI 2025 New Year t-shirt. Please review the specific requirements for a design to be considered for the t-shirt provided below. Submissions are due by October 8, 2024. If you wish to submit more than one image, please submit each file in a separate entry form. Our 2024 New Year Dragon t-shirt was a huge success. We look forward to one of the designs being the MWI 2025 Tashi Delek T-shirt! We appreciate you all and are overjoyed to share your creativity!

In eastern cultures, the new year holiday, Losar, is celebrated often in February and begins a new annual cycle with an animal, gender and element zodiac theme. On February 28, 2025 Losar will begin the year of the female wood snake. Rinpoche is an accomplished and respected teacher and extremely deep thinker. For many years, Elizabeth and Rinpoche have enjoyed teaching together and have been engaged in an ongoing inquiry into the topic of emptiness, and the ritual and practice of Chod. Elizabeth is excited to have Rinpoche back on OQ LIVE to discuss the function of ritual in practice and life, and how it can support us to cultivate confidence in the emptiness view.

Authentic practitioners describe awakening as being touched by a sense of awe, overcome by the beauty, fierceness and power of being. To be in AWE is a natural human experience. Ironically, so is the discomfort that leaves us restless with the experience, making it almost impossible to bear. Our inability to bear the ineffable gives rise to dualism and our conflict with faith.
