Cover for this episode was created by Charmaine Oakley.
Charmaine Oakley is a mother, Chinese Medicine healthcare provider and consultant, meditation instructor, and long-time Buddhist practitioner. She has been interested in photography since childhood.
“Photography is surprising. I'm often inspired by a flower, onion skin, or orange peel, but the images themselves are dependent on so many unplanned aspects of life coming together. I’m not in charge of the sunlight, the breeze through the window where I set up most of the still-lifes, the specific way a flower has dried or a leaf curled, the speck of dirt caught on a petal, what I’m feeling, or whether or not there is something in a photo that makes me want to see it again. I hope the photos somehow are satisfying. For me, they have become another way to connect with and appreciate our world. “
